Flowering Redbud

Black and white nature photographyis a very affordable way to build a high quality art collection , one that will gain value as the years go by. Photography and art collectors can’t help being drawn to digital photos outdoor scenes, nature, and wild animals . Why? Because collectible photography has been taken to another level with the emergency of digital photos, which results in images that are long lasting and high resolution , with no loss of color .

Digital photos also reflect a photographer’s creativity in capturing a wild animal or beautiful landscape that looks as if you could touch it. Looking for proof ? Simply look at a nature photo , one done with a digital camera , and look at how the smallest details are captured – from the thin antennae and stunning colors of a butterfly’s wings to landscapes and their beautiful shades and tones. Make a comparison to photos that are much older that aren’t digital photos . You’ll probably find, colors aren’t true and may have faded in just a short time .

Unlike photos that are a bit older, black and white nature photography can be wonderful to look at and a great investment , through the years, never losing the initial beauty . There are some very realistic digital photos yet others may be a lot like a painting that is abstract. Every one captures the beauty of nature , showing off the skill of the photographer .

Digital photos include teamwork between nature and the photographer . What are the results ? A creation that is beautiful and artistic; captured in just a second , yet as beautiful – or possibly more so – then a quality piece of painted art.

Do you find this intriguing ? Are you ready to start your own collection of black and white nature photography? There are some basic tips to keep in mind . Mostly, however, those who aspire to have a collection should enjoy going through various photos, should enjoy their purchases and go on their instincts. There isn’t a better way you can add a bit of nature to your office or home than to place up a natural photo or scene of nature of a wild animal, bird or insect .

If a photo resonates with the viewer , this can be one reason to buy it. Of course, it’s still a good idea to remember several pointers. What tips do you need to keep in mind when buying digital nature photos ? In the first place , don’t be afraid to ask questions . Find out about the photographer’s background and experience .

If you’re looking for a commissioned photo, find out if this is something that is possible. Some photographers are open to visiting clients’ homes, farms or vacation areas and taking special nature photos for you . You can add to your office or home something with personal style.

Ask about the type of paper used and ask of the photos are of archival quality . Find out about the photographer’s special skills and creative passions . Just as those who collect paintings benefit from knowing about the painters , more information about the photos can be given by the photographer , giving you an even better experience when purchasing.

One important thing to find out of top quality photos that are digital happens to be the price. For prices that are very reasonable, collectors (even those on a budget) can often obtain works that may only increase in value for years to come . Meanwhile , nature’s beauty can be admired and enjoyed and can add a unique touch to any home or office.

Nothing is more fun than decorating or taking time to rearrange your home to give a new feeling to your home, even if you’ve lived in it for awhile. While artwork can be rather expensive , few things are as nice as black and white nature photography to give your home a sense of personal decor.

It doesn’t matter whether you want a country and comfortable feel or something that speaks culture and elegance, there is a way to use fine art nature photography to help you get the décor style you want in every room..

Play With Shadows
Fine art nature photography that features imagery of nature can vary from bright bursts of white to muted shades of gray, black, white, and in between. You get to enjoy excellent versatility if you like to play with the shades within a room to get dramatic effects .

If you only use a primary color or two for the room’s decor, an accent of black and white will probably be needed to make the décor stand out. Black and white photos of nature can help add those accents of black and white, or can bring out accents that are include in the room .

Black and white photos of nature can also be picked that go along with the primary colors you’re using , or you can use photos that include high contrast to liven up a room that is dull. With great placement and the perfect picture, your entire home can be set off in beautiful ways .

Find a Theme
In some rooms in your house, it can be fun to use themes , especially in children’s bedrooms and playrooms . Art studios and other rooms used for recreation and hobbies can work well with exciting themes .

Black and white nature photography provides the way for the theme to be pulled all together . In fact , the room’s theme can come from the fine art photo, letting you take the patterns and colors in the image pulling everything in the room together.

Case in point, black and white nature photography featuring baby deer in high grass can be the base for a child’s bedroom that is cute and unique. It may bring to mind Bambi and other Disney features that kids really love, even yet today.

Water is another theme that can be incorporated for an elegant feel . Photos that are fine art featuring oceans, rivers, or water calmly running over pebbles or smooth stones can really give you a great effect with tabletop water features and fish tanks placed strategically in the same room .

The Focal Point

Picking out the right fine art photo and using it as a larger framed print can help you draw the eye of everyone to the focal point the photo creates. If you want to draw the eye to one particular part of the room this is a great idea , or if you want to distract people from another part of the room .

When your focal point is a fine art photo , make sure it is something eye catching . The picture should be incredibly beautiful, or perhaps so odd no one can look away after noticing it .

Adding black and white nature photography in your house is enjoyable and can be much less expensive than trying to purchase paintings and other mediums of art . Fine art photos can be combined with other art forms to create dramatic effect , including sculptures and watercolor prints .

American-Oystercatcher-Florida-BW

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder , however, there are still some aspects that show the difference between pictures of nature and nature photos that are fine art .

First and foremost , a photographer wanting to product real art needs to accept the fact that he or she will usually need to take a hundred pictures for every one that may be a contender . Sometimes , there isn’t much the photographer is able to do when their subject cannot be predicted beyond using lots of patience and quick reflexes . The very first aspect relating to black and white nature photography then is capturing the natural moment when it happens . Anyone can photograph lions sleeping in the grass or a storm pelting a reservoir , but the photographer that is both focused and patient who catches that airborne moment as the lion pounces, or the first of a thousand spreading raindrop ripples .

Another important aspect of creating fine art nature photography is to be sure one has the proper equipment for the job . For example, your tripod is essential when shooting in nature not only to keep shots consistent, but to keep movement of the photographer to a minimum so the environment is not disturbed . Having the correct lens is imperative , for a 300/4 lens will produce a much different effect than a different type of lens, like a wide angle 20mm.

Yet another aspect to consider is lighting that makes a huge difference between black and white nature photography and pictures you took quickly on a zoo trip. Natural light is usually most abundant , and it’s the best, but only if it isn’t too harsh as it is midday . Not only should you know about light sources , but also the ability to control it . Using umbrellas, reflective foils, and white boards might not be needed when taking nature photos depending on the time of day and the composite of the landscape . Of course, here it is important to know what equipment is necessary and what is not to get the effects you want.

As was aforementioned, beauty is definitely in the eye on the one beholding the photo, the particular practices and techniques will show up in pictures that you can really call “fine art.” If the goal is to produce black and white nature photography, the photographer must have patience and be ready, must know the difference between necessary equipment and the excessive , and last of all , must master the techniques of lighting that can be used to get the effects you want. The rest is up to nature and chance .

Hoarfrost-on-Strawberry-&-Maple-leaves-BW

One incredible thing about black and white nature photography is all that it can inspire . An image is seen of something incredibly beautiful and it is as if you’re really there – you seem to be a part of it – it puts you in awe of the photo . And that is what photographers want to put in those who see their work .

Impressions that fine art nature photography makes on an individual is subjective, just like photography . If several people view the very same photograph of fine art, the impressions they have may be quite different . On one person the photography may make a bad impression , a great impression on another and a totally different impression on the third person .

Look at a duck photograph in its own habitat. One person may see it and immediately comments how beautiful the colorings in the duck’s wings are . They may mention that the crisp clear reflection is so great that it look as though another duck was swimming right next to him . Those drops of water that cling to the duck appear as tiny diamonds lying on the brown feathers of the duck . Another person may see the duck photo and says that the water looks murky and that the duck is looking sad. Then a third person may shrug and state … “it’s just a duck.” “so, it’s a photo of a duck.”

Of course, a fine art photographer of nature definitely hopes that his photography makes more of an impression than a comment that “it is a duck” and a shrug of the shoulders. But that’s the beauty of how nature photography leaves its impression – subjective, open, and honest. And for nature enthusiasts , this type of photography is embedded in their life .

Black and white nature photography lets viewers travel to that place. When you look at a photo of the sea crashing on huge rocks for some time , you feel like you are there – you can just about feel the warm sea breeze , hear the water and smell the salt the moment it hits the rocks . This is the very way people should be impressed with a piece of nature photography.

Our lives include fine art photographs of nature by hanging them on the wall at home, used as our favorite savers on our computer screens , and they even are put on t-shirts to wear. Impressions that come along with black and white nature photography – whether good, bad or indifferent – allows everyone to have an opinion of what they dislike and like. These photos make an everlasting impression .
